Up for auction is one of the most original and well documented pontiac gto's in existence. Purchased new at martinson motor company in durango, colorado on march 12th 1969, special ordered by an army officer returning from vietnam who traded in his 1965 gto to purchase this one. He has owned it ever since, putting only 107,000 miles on it. The car is well documented, with receipts dating back over the cars life. It had sat for the last 20 years, only being started once in awhile. He kept it outside his home here in colorado under a tarp and it was not kind to the paint. He told us about the car and asked us to help him get rid of it. We went to pick it up and he was getting ready to turn it over and i stopped him. It needed a fuel system refresh and new fluids first.. And we were not even sure it would run. I took it home, replaced the fuel tank, sending unit and fuel pump, flushed the radiator, changed the oil and rebuilt the carburetor. New plugs, and it fired right up! It runs good, however, it still needs new points and wires installed... The interior is the original, untouched interior. Its amazing for its age. The dash has a crack, he had newer floor mats in it (the originals are in the trunk), and at one time... Had a cb radio in it. As the pictures show... He added, for the time, an old school gps system (the compass between the visors). It had a trailer hitch on it that i removed. The tires wouldn't hold air for long, so i put on the torq thrust rims with good tires. The original rims and hubcaps are included. The body on the car had its share of door dings, a dent that was professionally repaired, and scuffs and scrapes. I did not want to take all the character of the car away, however, the paint needed redone, and in the process we cleaned up the pits and scratches before applying a fresh coat of liberty blue paint. It shines well, needs a final buff/detail. There is a small bottle of touch up paint included to fix any blemishes, but it does look good. The car came with factory a/c, which is the only option he wanted. All the lights work, radio works (am radio), the only think not working is the fuel sending unit.. We think its a bad ground. Bid with confidence. This is a 48 year old unrestored car and is sold as-is/where-is with no warranties written or implied. Zero feedback bidders contact me prior to bidding. Air Conditioning
